Routine is Key...

Top 5 things MOT testers forget to check or don’t check in a VT8 DVSA demonstration sign off.


5. NOT carrying out a precheck - then abandoning a test when it should of be a refusal to test.


4. NOT knowing what or where to locate 'Non Component Advisories' within the MTS


3. NOT checking headlamp alignment correctly - incorrectly checking beam /setting up equipment. This also includes NOT testing operation of leveling device (if fitted).


2. NOT using all measuring devices for 'Emissions Tests', by-passing oil temperature Diesel smoke tests and RPM - (you should use these, where appropriate, every test and keep this record for three months).


AT NUMBER 1…...NOT using 'Turn Plates' correctly!- (for 'Lock to Lock', 'Fowling' or 'Push and Pull tests).



As a Mot Tester how often do I need Quality Control?

A mininium of 2 a month, we recommend 4-6 weeks. Having us do this, we are impartial, this could award your MOT test station points from the DVSA. 



Can you help get a New Tester through the DVSA practical VT8 sign off?

As a company we can offer support to all MOT testers with their MOT test routine, this includes helping new testers and non testers wishing to become a MOT tester.



Can you supply and help with Annual Assessment CPD training?

Through Quality Control we can document ongoing CPD, for your own training log. As a company we can supply Training logs, CPD Annual training and tests. 



As a Training Provider / College can you help us?

Our company liaises with awarding bodies, we can help with understanding Apprenticeship 'Standards', help with 'set up' for End Point Assessment (EPA), assess for your Centre, deliver bespoke training to your needs and cover teaching, amongst other duties.
